Unia has launched a new diversity monitoring tool, an essential tool for diversity managers, HR professionals and all those who wish to work towards inclusion and diversity in the workplace. This initiative, supported by the employers' organisations UNIZO, Unisoc, UCM, AKT, Voka, Boerenbond, Beci and VBO/FEB as part of the cooperation agreement with Unia, allows companies to better map and strengthen their diversity and inclusion policy.
Would you like to assess the state of diversity within your company when drawing up, evaluating or adapting your policy? Then this tool could be useful. Unia's existing monitoring tool has also been extended to include additional guidelines on self-definition of origin and methods for asking about the characteristic ‘disability’.
In the document ‘Diversity monitoring: do it yourself’, you will find:
- legal and ethical points of attention;
- explanations of two data collection methods (administrative data and surveys);
- new information on self-definition of origin - an innovative way of measuring this characteristic;
- complete guidelines for questioning on the disability characteristic;
- guidelines for questioning gender identity;
- other guidelines and practical examples.
The tool is available free of charge and can be downloaded in French and Dutch from Handige tools / Outils pratiques | www.ediv.be.
Why commit to an inclusive working environment?
An inclusive working environment contributes to better performance, more innovation and creativity and a stronger corporate culture. By actively promoting diversity, you attract a wider range of talent, improve employee engagement and create a working environment in which everyone feels valued and respected. Not only does this translate into greater satisfaction and productivity, it also strengthens your company's reputation as a forward-looking and socially responsible player.
