ESG reporting is no longer a constraint reserved for large companies, it is now a concrete strategic opportunity for SMEs.

Programme: 

During this session, we will cover:

  • The concrete value of ESG reporting for your SME
  • The voluntary SME standard: understanding it and using it effectively
  • Expert tips to structure and draft your ESG report
  • Strategies to maximise the value of your ESG approach

We will also share practical guidance to help you build an effective ESG report, including directly applicable recommendations:

  • Focus on the ESG topics most relevant to your business
  • Leverage existing internal data (HR, energy, suppliers, etc.)
  • Engage your teams to improve both quality and buy-in
  • Keep it simple and pragmatic (KISS)
  • Set clear and measurable objectives
  • Communicate transparently, including on areas for improvement
  • Illustrate your actions with concrete examples
  • Update your reporting regularlys parties prenantes
  • Integrate stakeholder feedback ​

In addition, we will highlight internal best practices for SMEs: 

  • Align ESG initiatives with your business strategy
  • Use simple tools to structure data collection
  • Benchmark against your sector
  • Value incremental progress and quick wins
  • Train teams on ESG topics
  • Continuously adapt your approach based on learnings​

Alongside these best practices, we will also briefly focus on common pitfalls to avoid: 

  • Trying to cover everything → prioritise what matters most
  • Overcomplicating reporting → keep it clear and accessible
  • Failing to follow up → use reporting as a tool for continuous improvement


The session will conclude with an open Q&A, followed—as is customary at Beci—by a warm networking moment where you can exchange with fellow business leaders.​
