Since September, BDO Belgium has been one of Beci's structural partners. Those familiar with their work in Brussels know that this partnership did not come out of the blue: their teams have long been supporting entrepreneurs with their financial, tax and legal issues, drawing on their in-depth knowledge of the field. Interview with BDO.

What role do you play in Brussels-based companies?

BDO Belgium is an international consulting organisation renowned for its expertise in financial services: auditing, taxation, legal, accounting and reporting. We also support companies by providing specialist advice on digital and sustainability issues. Our strength lies in our solid local roots and international network, with teams that provide practical support to entrepreneurs, from start-ups to well-established companies.

What shared values and ambitions made this partnership with Beci an obvious choice?

BDO and Beci share the same mission: to connect, empower and represent entrepreneurs. Beci is the voice of more than 35,000 Brussels-based businesses, while BDO positions itself as a strategic partner capable of transforming knowledge into action. We both believe in sustainable growth, responsible entrepreneurship and the power of collaboration. With this partnership, we want to make an impact, together.

How do you contribute to Brussels' economic ecosystem?

Thanks to Beci, we can share our knowledge and experience directly with entrepreneurs. We actively participate in inspirational sessions, networking events and publications designed to help entrepreneurs progress. We also contribute analyses from our BDO barometer to discussions on the future of entrepreneurship in Brussels. With Beci, we are strengthening the Brussels ecosystem: a city full of ambition, but one that also needs advice, confidence and practical expertise.

What advantages can this partnership offer companies that are members of Beci?

Entrepreneurs have access to BDO's extensive expertise, which goes beyond consulting to include practical support for their growth or transformation projects. Whether for financial planning, risk management, digitalisation or sustainable transition, BDO helps them to implement their projects in a structured and thoughtful manner. At the same time, this partnership creates opportunities for encounters where experiences, knowledge and networks intersect, generating both inspiration and opportunities for collaboration between Brussels-based companies.

In your opinion, what are the specific needs of Brussels-based businesses?

Our barometer shows that Brussels entrepreneurs are resilient: 56% want to continue growing despite economic pressure. The main challenges concern finding the right talent, managing economic volatility and the ability to invest wisely in digitalisation and sustainability.

There is also a clear need for risk management and strategic vision. Entrepreneurs want to continue investing, but with a detailed understanding of the issues at stake. This is exactly where BDO comes in: with analysis and support that enable decisions to be made based on facts rather than intuition.
