Join Beci’s Public Affairs team and take an active role in the economic debates shaping the Brussels Region.
Your mission
Beci is looking for a Senior Policy Advisor to strengthen its work on economic and employment policies in the Brussels-Capital Region. As a key liaison between businesses, federations, and public decision-makers, you will play a crucial role in formulating concrete policy proposals, analysing economic trends, and advocating with the Brussels Government, Brupartners, and regional and community institutions.
You will be Beci’s point of reference on these topics and maintain regular contact with our network of entrepreneurs of all sizes and sectors.
Your responsibilities
As Senior Policy Advisor “Economy & Labour Market” in our employers’ organisation, your tasks will include:
- Ensuring a strong connection with Beci’s member federations and companies on issues related to the economy and employment in Brussels;
- Developing concrete proposals to strengthen the Region’s economic attractiveness and help businesses address challenges in recruitment, search for talent, and labour market evolution, such as:
- Creating a business-friendly environment;
- Supporting sectoral policies;
- Analysing recruitment trends and talent development;
- Assessing the impact of artificial intelligence on HR operations and work organisation;
- …
- Producing data summaries and trend analyses;
- Formulating policy recommendations and contributing to advocacy efforts defending the interests of employers, SMEs, and the self-employed in Brussels, at the federal, regional, community, and municipal levels;
- Contributing to the development of our 'Talents' community by fostering dialogue, collaboration, and joint initiatives around labour market topics;
- Representing Beci in organisations such as Brupartners.
Your key tasks
- Monitoring & analysis: Monitoring developments in the Region's economic and employment policies. Identifying the opportunities, obstacles and needs of Brussels businesses.
- Political recommendations: Translating our members' priorities into concrete, realistic proposals.
- Advocacy: Participating actively in consultation processes, representing and defending the interests of employers, the self-employed and sectoral federations in dealings with political and institutional authorities.
- Reports and publications: Writing notes, position papers and reports to provide input for our members and federations, thereby strengthening the voice of entrepreneurs.
- Community management: Creating links between active members of the ‘Talents’ community, creating partnerships. Organising and participating in events, workshops and seminars. Promoting synergies with other Beci communities, including those linked to AI and ESG.
Your profile
- Education: Master’s degree in Economics or Political Science.
- Experience: Significant experience in the fields of economics and/or labour market. Experience in the political world is an asset.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of macroeconomic and microeconomic principles and the labour market. Good knowledge of the Brussels institutional landscape and of the various parties involved in the public debate on matters relating to the economy, employment and training.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities and data interpretation skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to bring together stakeholders with diverse interests;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (FR + good proficiency in NL and EN);
- Proactive, autonomous, and results-oriented;
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team.
