On 3 September 2026, in Brussels, Beci announced the appointment of Caroline Aelvoet, CEO of Sodexo Belgium, as chair of its board of directors. She succeeds Annick Hernot, COO and executive director at Audi Brussels, to continue supporting Brussels-based businesses and entrepreneurs.
Cutting-edge expertise to tackle Brussels’ challenges
CEO of Sodexo Belgium since 2023, the new Chair brings a wealth of leadership experience and a high-calibre academic background. A committed player in the economic ecosystem, she sits on the FEB’s Strategic Committee, has been a member of Beci’s Board of Directors since 2024, and holds several positions focused on governance, health and social impact. Drawing on her in-depth understanding of employment issues, organisational transformation and sustainability, her tenure will be fully aligned with Beci’s core missions.
Thierry Geerts, CEO of Beci, highlights the strengths of her profile: “Caroline brings a valuable combination: leadership experience, expertise in public relations and a genuine commitment to society." For her part, the new chair intends to take concrete action: " want to help ensure businesses’ voices are heard and forge stronger links with public authorities so that we can continue to innovate and create jobs."
A handover that ensures continuity
This transition marks the end of Annick Hernot’s term of office, during which she spearheaded Beci’s renewal with a new management team and a redefined mission centred on three pillars: Voice, Connect, Serve. Thierry Geerts pays tribute to her presidency, thanking her for her constant commitment to strengthening dialogue between entrepreneurs and public authorities and to defending businesses in the face of major regional challenges.
It is a commitment that the outgoing president, Annick Hernot, passes on with confidence: “Caroline Aelvoet’s experience as a leader and her understanding of the realities of life in Brussels are invaluable assets for Beci. I am convinced that she will be able to give a strong voice to our businesses.”
