Talent Talk #7 : Training, a Catalyst for Employment and Recruitment

How can we make it easier to access the labour market and enable new talent to gain a foothold in the company?

Work placements, student jobs, work experience programmes and on-the-job training all serve as pathways to employment. For companies, these experiences provide an opportunity to discover new candidates, assess their skills, support them and, in some cases, offer them long-term employment.

Beyond these initial experiences, how can we recruit differently, focusing more on potential than on qualifications? And how can we make training a genuine driver of recruitment and talent development?

This 7th edition of Talent Talks will bring together companies, HR managers and key players in employment and training to discuss practical approaches and real-world experiences. The discussions will continue over a networking drinks reception, providing an opportunity to continue the conversations and forge new contacts.

Welcome words by Alain Heureux, moderator of the Talent Talk.

Speakers

The names of the speakers will be announced in due course, as the programme is finalised.

The Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region, Boris Dilliès, will give the closing address at the end of the afternoon.

Networking drink

The event will conclude with a networking drinks reception, allowing participants to continue their discussions in an informal setting.

The event will be structured around two complementary panels

Panel 1 - Facilitating entry into the workplace

How can companies open their doors to new profiles and make it easier to recruit them?

Work placements, student jobs, work experience placements and skills-based recruitment: these are all opportunities to discover new talent, assess their potential and foster their long-term integration.

Panel 2 - Training to meet recruitment needs

How can companies develop the skills they need?

On-the-job training, in-house academies, career change programmes and partnerships with training organisations: how can companies train their future employees and anticipate changes in the workplace?
