ESG for all: sustainability in the hospital sector

Debates can be held in English, Dutch and French.

ESG for all is back for a new year !

ESG for all is back for another year of inspiration and action! Every month, we connect entrepreneurs and committed stakeholders around ESG challenges. Over the past year, we tackled key topics such as poverty, the textile industry, and Brussels’ climate policy, alongside speakers like Bruno Colmant, Thierry Smets (Les Petits Riens), Anaïs Carion (MAD Brussels), and Minister Jean-Luc Crucke.

For this first edition of 2026, we will focus on the medical and hospital sector to explore ways to enhance sustainability.

How can we make our hospitals more sustainable? ?

Today, the healthcare sector is facing numerous challenges: rising energy costs, increasing regulatory constraints, pressure on human resources, and growing societal expectations…

In addition to these structural challenges, a major issue is emerging: the sustainability of the sector. The healthcare sector alone accounts for nearly 5% of Belgium’s greenhouse gas emissions, with more than half coming from hospitals.

These profound transformations are forcing the hospital sector to rethink its operational models, while never losing sight of its primary mission: to care for and treat patients.

Speakers:

To support this discussion, three field experts will share their experiences and concrete, practical actions related to these challenges:

  • Hôpitaux Iris Sud (HIS)-Reza Esmaeilzadeh -  Expert Énergie et Développement Durable,
