Inspirational Scale-up night

Is your business doing well and do you want to keep growing? Do you aspire to take your business to the next level and bring innovation to it?

Other businesses have already been down this path – why not chat to them?! Join us at our next Scale-up Night to hear from our three inspiring entrepreneurs and find out more about their entrepreneurial journeys. Each has succeeded in their own field, yet they all have different stories and backgrounds. These companies, which have successfully scaled up, will share with you their journeys and the challenges they’ve faced, both in their professional careers and in their personal lives.

Scale-up night 26/01/2027

(18:00 - 21:00)

The speakers :

💥 Djemila Tassin - Navigatrice

Djemila Tassin is a Belgian-Spanish professional sailor and skipper of the Class40 No. 153 ‘Magenta’. Her project in three words: Race, Inspire, Protect. She will be the first Belgian woman to take part in the 2026 Route du Rhum, the legendary solo transatlantic race, as well as the 2027 Global Solo Challenge, a solo, non-stop round-the-world race. Her sailing career has already taken her on four transatlantic crossings, including two solo crossings in a Mini6.50, as well as two competitive crossings of the Pacific via the South Seas.

She is a trained oceanographer, and her passion for the ocean lies at the heart of all her projects. As well as being a skipper, she has been a mentor for several years with The Magenta Project, an award-winning international organisation that works to promote greater equality and inclusion for women in the sailing industry by developing a network of mentors and mentees.

💥 Nicolas Ronsmans - Club Mate Belgium

Passionate about the drinks sector, Nicolas Ronsmans is heavily involved in the import and distribution of drinks in Belgium, with a particular focus on the hospitality market. His expertise lies in developing distribution strategies that perfectly position brands within this key sector, ensuring their organic growth before expanding into traditional retail to guarantee their success. As the founder of Lovibond Drinks, he specialises in building a unique portfolio of alternative drinks. Every brand he represents embodies a spirit of innovation and boldness, whether they are functional drinks, craft drinks or simply those that create a great atmosphere.

💥 Ludovic Elens - Ludovic Elens

Trained as an optician and optometrist, Ludovic Elens often encountered customers early in his career who were searching for *THE* pair of glasses that suited them. Not just people with particular aesthetic preferences, but people whose faces did not fit the ‘one-size-fits-all’ mould. When some of them began asking him to find a solution, he thought of making bespoke glasses. Why wasn’t this service available in Belgium? He wanted to understand how to make them. This quest led him to Morez, in the French Jura, where he trained at the École des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. And in late 2015, he opened his workshop in the Sablon district of Brussels – a space that reflects his personality, in a neighbourhood where artisans, galleries and antique dealers come together. Today, more than 10 years on, he co-runs a Maison d’Artisans, still based in the Sablon, specialising in the production of bespoke eyewear in very small batches. The concept has remained the same, but it is the scale of the project that has changed. Four full-time staff and clients from all corners of the globe… Ludovic Elens has become a leading name in the world of bespoke, handcrafted eyewear.

                                                                         ----

Three very different worlds, but ultimately the same question at the heart of this Scale-Up Night: how do you continue to grow, reinvent yourself and move forward when the path isn’t entirely clear?
