The 3rd Meeting of the Belgium-Kazakhstan Business Council

The event is held in English

In a context of economic transition, sustainable engagement and market diversification, strengthening Belgium's trade relations with key partners such as Kazakhstan becomes a high-potential opportunity. The country's rapid modernisation, its commitment to ESG principles and its role as a key gateway between Europe and Asia make it a natural partner for Belgian business leadership.

That is why we are proud to host the 3ᵉ meeting of the Belgium-Kazakhstan Business Council, which brings together public and private sector players to explore opportunities in one of Central Asia's most dynamic economies.

The Business Council is organised by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan and the International Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in BrusselsBeci, Belgian Chambers, AWEX, FIT, and hub.brussels.

Who should attend?

  • Belgian firms in sustainable agriculture, green logistics, ESG advisory, cleantech, and agri-processing
  • Exporters, investors, and public sector project developers
  • Legal experts, chambers, and trade support institutions

Why Kazakhstan?

Located at the heart of Central Asia, Kazakhstan is the region’s largest economy and a strategic logistics and investment hub connecting the EU with China, the Caucasus, and beyond. With over $400 billion in FDI since 2005 and a clear orientation toward green transformation, infrastructure, innovation, and regional connectivity, it is fast emerging as a top-tier destination for European trade and investment.

2024 highlights:

  • 🇪🇺 EU–Kazakhstan trade: $49.7 billion (+16.9%)
  • 🇧🇪 Belgium among top 10 EU investors in Kazakhstan
  • 🇰🇿 Strategic partner in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR)

ESG & Sustainability Cooperation: Opportunities for Belgian Leadership

Kazakhstan is increasingly aligning with international sustainability goals and prioritizing ESG-focused investments in every major sector:

  • Green logistics and low-carbon infrastructure along the TITR
  • Modernization of agriculture with resource-efficient irrigation, digital crop management, and waste-reduction technologies
  • Growing demand for eco-friendly fertilizers, biological pesticides, and renewable energy input in agribusiness
  • Interest in circular economy models, including recycling, water purification, and sustainable packaging
  • Mining and heavy industry reforms supporting decarbonization, responsible sourcing, and ESG compliance standards

Belgian companies with expertise in cleantech, compliance, energy transition, sustainable architecture, and agri-innovation will find strong alignment with Kazakhstan’s new investment priorities and national ESG agenda.
