The first barometer of neurodiversity & neuro-inclusive practices

No work environment is truly neutral. That is a fact.

It constantly affects individuals and groups. It influences behavior, engagement, and performance. It facilitates, it constrains, it supports… or it exhausts.

The diversity of cognitive functioning concerns ALL teams. Neurodiversity is an integral part of human diversity. Neurodivergence affects 15% to 20% of the population. Neuro-inclusion is therefore not a niche topic, but a structural challenge for organizations.

A statistical blind spot at the heart of human issues

Between this reality and corporate practices, a stark observation emerges: data is missing. To date, no structured approach exists to understand how work environments do, or do not, account for the diversity of cognitive functioning.

Yet organizations have numerous indicators at their disposal: engagement, performance, absenteeism, turnover, workplace climate, diversity, ESG…

But there is nothing to objectively measure: the level of organizational maturity on these issues, the structural, cultural, or operational barriers, the levers that can realistically be activated, or the impact of the practices put in place.

This lack of benchmarks limits the ability to make evidence-based decisions.

Providing benchmarks where none exist

This is the ambition behind the first Neurodiversity & Neuro-Inclusive Practices Barometer, launched by Hypersens in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Spain and Italy, and supported by Norstat.

This initiative aims to:

  • Measure the reality of work environments,
  • Establish reliable and shared benchmarks,
  • Document the maturity of organizations,
  • Inform decisions and trade-offs.

Only what is made visible and measurable can be lastingly transformed.
