Since May, Eulep and CVO Semper have been raising awareness among young people about shortage occupations. Following on from gamified videos, it is now time for filmed testimonials from students, which will be posted on TikTok this autumn.

Career orientation is rarely a smooth ride. After school, some turn to university, while others look for their path elsewhere. Eulep wants to talk to those who are still hesitating. For several months now, this European project, supported by Beci and carried out with CVO Semper, has been targeting young people by offering them another perspective: skilled trades. After an initial series of entertaining videos, students talk about their daily lives, which will soon be posted on CVO Semper's TikTok account.

From clichés to reality

In the spring, the campaign had fun subverting stereotypes: the electrical engineer pulling endless cables, the childcare worker buried in nappies and baby bottles. Behind the humour, the videos used these simplistic images to better dismantle them. The aim was to show that behind these seemingly technical professions lie the programming of automated systems, the use of digital tools and the educational support of children.

The message was simple but effective: these so-called ‘shortage’ occupations are also occupations of the future. Choosing a career path is not settling for a default option, but investing in training that opens doors.

Students share their stories

This autumn, the campaign is expanding. The cameras are moving away from playful scenes to film real-life experiences. On the CVO Semper campus, childcare and electromechanics students are now sharing their daily lives, complete with demonstrations. Their stories will be posted on the school's TikTok account in the coming weeks.

The idea behind the campaign is no longer to caricature, but to show: a multimeter in hand, a monitoring tablet, a workshop buzzing with activity, a nursery where laughter mingles with safety instructions. These details paint a much richer picture than clichés ever could. With these portraits, Eulep continues its work of reconciling young people with skilled trades, letting those who are already pursuing them speak for themselves.
